Training Day

This week we discuss the 2001 American crime thriller film Training Day directed by Antoine Fuqua.

It stars Denzel Washington in his Oscar winning role as Alonzo Harris and Ethan Hawke (who was nominated for best supporting actor) as Jake Hoyt, two LAPD narcotics officers followed over a 24-hour period in the gang-ridden neighborhoods of South Central Los Angeles.

Buckle up for this one. The Aussie had not seen this one - did he like it? You bet he did - although he still manages to pick holes in it and thought it was as predictable as it gets - the Scotsman did not think so.

This is an exciting, explosive movie one of Denzels best.

"This is not Shakespeare" says the Aussie, and he is right this is just pure entertainment.
