Top Gun: Maverick

This week we review the 2022 American action drama film Top Gun: Maverick directed by Joseph Kosinski .

This is a sequel to the 1986 film Top Gun. Tom Cruise reprises his starring role as the naval aviator Maverick.

It also stars Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Monica Barbaro, Lewis Pullman, Ed Harris and Val Kilmer, who reprises his role as Iceman.

The story involves Maverick confronting his past while training a group of younger Top Gun graduates, including the son of his deceased best friend, for a dangerous mission.

Arguments between the Aussie and the Scotsman ensue right from the start - the Aussie not a big fan of this one, he says it is a "direct copy" of the first including all the lines.

The Scotsman is having none of that.

Is this a stand alone movie or is it not? The Scotsman asks the Aussie to put up a poll on Social Media to see who prefers which movie - that does not go down well!

The Scotsman pulls out a comparison of the movie Interstellar - this does not go down well with the Aussie either - he hated Interstellar.
